Working in the Wellness sector: what qualifications do you need?

In the last article of our blog we introduced the routes of our headquarters in Via Demetriade, where 13-14 year olds leaving middle school (now known as lower secondary school...) can acquire the skills and qualifications necessary to work in the wellness/beauty sector.

Young beauty enthusiasts can specialize in two areas and become a hairdresser (or if you prefer barber/hair stylist) or beautician (or if you prefer beautician, cosmetologist and the more you have, the more!).

But exactly what qualifications do you need to work in the beauty industry? Let's see it together.

Qualifications needed for the beauty industry

In the ever-evolving beauty industry, the importance of formal education and certification cannot be emphasized enough. A solid education is the foundation on which to build a successful career in hairstyling or makeup artistry.

Specialized educational institutions like Capodarco Formazione offer carefully designed courses that provide a comprehensive overview of the techniques, tools and products used in the beauty industry.

Formal training not only teaches you the basics, but also gives you the opportunity to practice under the supervision of experienced instructors, receive constructive feedback, and hone your skills. Furthermore, obtaining an official certification not only increases your credibility, but also demonstrates your commitment to excellence in your chosen field.

Two different paths: hairdresser and beautician

It is essential to understand the differences between hairstyling and beautician courses.

While hairstyling focuses on creating stunning hairstyles, understanding hair structure, cutting, styling and coloring techniques, the art of beautician emphasizes and highlights natural beauty through the skillful use of cosmetic products, even to the care of the well-being of the body with the study and practice of aesthetic massage techniques.

Hairstyling courses can cover topics such as cutting, perming, dyeing and scalp treatments, while makeup artistry courses can focus on basic and advanced make-up application techniques, combining colors and textures to create unique looks.

The choice between hairstyling and makeup artistry will depend on your personal passion and creative inclinations, so it is crucial to select the course that best aligns with your interests to maximize your potential in the beauty industry.
