Beauty and work: the importance of internships and apprenticeships

For the "working in the Wellness sector" series, we have seen in our previous articles:

Let's now address a fundamental aspect of the world of work, namely how to acquire practical experience, with internships and apprenticeships!

“Looking for a newly graduated intern with 5 years of experience”

The classic title from announcement impossible, where an (often improvised) employer tries to deal with his own entrepreneurial inability by delegating his responsibility to someone who does not exist! Because obviously you can't be a recent graduate and have 5 years of experience.

On a serious note, it's true that in the beauty industry, the importance of hands-on experience cannot be emphasized enough. While formal training provides a solid theoretical foundation, it is through practical experience that you truly hone your skills and learn to handle the day-to-day challenges of working as a hairstylist or makeup artist.

The classroom experience during our courses

Obviously our courses include hundreds of hours of laboratory work, where we train on the so-called “heads” to search for the perfect hair, or (in beautician courses) our classmates act as models, in a mutual exchange with surprising results, as in these tricks done on Halloween this year ^_^

However, all this is not enough, because being "in the shop" also and above all means relating to the customer, developing customer care skills and in any case having to respond to much more stringent needs than those of our neighbor at the counter or of the head (which is plastic! ).

The fundamental importance of internships and apprenticeships

Internships and apprenticeships offer the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the professional environment, work closely with real clients and apply the knowledge you gain in the classroom. Direct practice not only builds your confidence, but also teaches you to handle different hair types, skin, and style requests. It is through practical experience that you develop professional intuition and an in-depth understanding of your client's needs.

Our courses always include an internship

As Capodarco Formazione (headquarters in Via Demetriade) we have an extensive network of entities spread homogeneously throughout the Roman territory that collaborate with us precisely to offer you a real experience in the workplace.

In fact, our courses to become a Hairstylist or Beautician always include a period of (mandatory) internship in the salon, precisely to gain practical experience also in the relationship with customers: a stimulating apprenticeship environment will allow you to learn not only technical skills, but also practical aspects such as time management, communication with clients and the daily operation of a successful salon. Making the most of these hands-on experience opportunities is critical to properly preparing yourself for entering the dynamic and competitive world of beauty.
