Grottaferrata is colored with kindness with the Kindness Olympics, an initiative involving schools, institutions and local associations to promote the value of kindness and social inclusion.
The event, promoted by theCor et Amor Association and from Municipality of Grottaferrata is part of a large project which aims to raise awareness throughout the community on the importance of simple but significant actions, capable of creating a positive impact on society.
Kindness, as a concrete practice, is a powerful tool to promote social participation and improve the quality of life of each of us.
The Game “In Search of Kind Words”
Our Capodarco Training Center actively participated in the Kindness Olympics with the game “In Search of Kind Words“. This activity, designed to involve and entertain participants, saw the participation of over forty students from our courses.
The children were divided into small groups, each marked with a color, and given a map to go on a real treasure hunt.
Along the way, participants solved word games and riddles, following clues scattered along the way. The final goal was to discover the real treasure: the word KINDNESS. This treasure hunt not only tested the logical skills of the children, but also allowed them to rediscover, in a playful and collaborative way, the value of kindness as a tool for connection and mutual support.
A Mural for Kindness and the Flash Mob
The Kindness Olympics activities did not stop there. During this special week, in the area of Capodarco Agriculture Cooperative, a very significant artistic project has been started: the creation of the Murals of Kindness. This mural was created by the girls and boys of the San Giuseppe Art High School, in collaboration with Capodarco Formazione, with the aim of leaving a tangible sign of the collective will to build a kinder and more inclusive community.
In parallel, on November 13, on the occasion of the World Kindness Day, a meeting took place flash mobs which saw the participation of students, associations and citizens. This event, which started in the centre of Grottaferrata and culminated in the cooperative area, involved all those present with songs, dances and messages of kindness and peace. The festive and engaging atmosphere helped to strengthen the sense of belonging to the community and to promote values of inclusion and hospitality.
Grottaferrata: Capital of Kindness 2025
The Kindness Olympics are part of a journey that will lead Grottaferrata to become the Capital of Kindness 2025. This title represents the recognition of the joint efforts of schools, institutions, associations and citizens in promoting a culture of kindness as a daily practice.
The “Costruiamo Gentilezza” initiative, of which Grottaferrata is a virtuous example, aims to actively involve the entire community in the creation of a more welcoming social environment, where every individual feels valued and supported.
The events organized this week, such as the game “In Search of Kind Words” and the creation of the Mural, are just some of the many concrete actions that aim to spread the message that kindness is a fundamental value to build a better society.
An extraordinary opportunity to meet and share
The Kindness Olympics were an extraordinary opportunity to involve the entire community of Grottaferrata in a path of collective growth based on kindness. Activities such as the game “In Search of Kind Words”, the Murales and the flash mob demonstrated how powerful kindness is in creating bonds, promoting participation and improving the quality of life for everyone.
