Digital Awareness and Online Safety: A Project for Young People with Disabilities

An important initiative dedicated to digital awareness has started, aimed at young people with disabilities. The training day, organized by the Cyber Security Foundation Italy at the Capodarco headquarters in Via Giannelli, involved 80 young people between 18 and 23 years old with the aim of promoting a safe and conscious use of technology, addressing the risks of the digital world.

Technology between opportunities and risks

We live in an era where smartphones, tablets and PCs are essential tools, but often used without full awareness of the dangers they hide. This project aimed to educate young people on how to protect themselves online, paying attention to the most widespread phenomena such as Digital scams, identity theft and misuse of personal information.

The importance of training with experts

During the meeting, thanks to the support of cyber security experts and to the collaboration with the Postal Police, practical situations and concrete solutions for safe navigation were illustrated. Through simple and accessible examples, participants learned how to recognize phishing attempts, protect your passwords and defend yourself from dangerous activities that could compromise their security.

The initiative was not only a training opportunity, but also a fundamental step towards breaking down digital barriers that often limit people with disabilities. The conscious use of technology can in fact become a tool for inclusion, active participation and personal growth.

Looking to the future: meetings continue

The project will continue with further training sessions to continue raising awareness of the risks of the digital world, promoting a online safety culture that can be accessible to all, without exclusions. The day reiterated a clear message: the technology must be an ally, and learning to use it safely allows you to face the digital world with confidence and autonomy.
